Local Priorities Violence against women and girls Message

I wanted to provide an update regarding Violence against women and girls, which members around this area have highlighted as an issue of concern on the Met Engage priority survey.

Local Officers worked with Hackney Enforcement Officers, Hackney Council VAWG Specialist and Hackney Night Time Levy Manager on the evening of Thursday 23rd July 2026.

Officers visited, all the licensed venues within the ward of De Beauvoir, having open conversations regarding VAWG (Violence Against Women and Girls), street crime, and awareness of the support offered by Hackney Council.

Officers also gave out various posters and leaflets to share, and raised awareness of recent robberies in the area.

This part of an ongoing partnership De Beauvoir SNT between Hackney Council and officers will be engaging with the team throughout the upcoming months.
